Four months before Sunset voters elect their next city supervisor, Natalie Gee, the progressive candidate, has raised more than all her opponents combined, campaign-finance filings released Monday show.

In naming Alan Wong, the mayor passed on making progressive Natalie Gee the D4 supervisor — but voters may not.

At a forum for the mayor’s current finalists for the District 4 supervisor seat, some 40 Sunset merchants and residents declared Natalie Gee the clear favorite.

Mayor Daniel Lurie has not appointed a new supervisor for D4, but already there’s a strong candidate in the race to defeat the mayor’s choice.
